Basic Values We Should Have

Basic Values | MORITA

Basic values we should have. Ever wonder about your children. Asking yourself, if I had done this or that, maybe my child wouldn’t be behaving badly now. I’m sure we have asked ourselves that question. The problem is that many of us are so into earning a living and get used to the daily routine of daily life, we don’t seem to find the time to spend with family. We kind of forget to think about the values we should be teaching our children as they are growing up, especially in the early ages. Consequently, they end up growing and picking up bad habits they shouldn’t, learning from other friends or acquaintances. They don’t grow up learning good basic values. Later, as adults, one wonders what happened. They become followers instead of leaders believing everything they are told, especially when it’s wrong. They are not able to make their own decisions and recognizing right from wrong. The following are a few important values I believe we should all have.

Honesty Basic Value

The basic values needed for solidarity

Basic Values We Should Have. The first one is Honesty. As we grow old and experience having children, we tend to forget that we are our children’s teachers. From the moment they learn to walk, the child is watching and learning from us. Most of what they should learn or absorb in their minds should be taught by the time they are six or seven. We are the roll models for them. Therefore, if that is true, we need to show the way, how to inter act, for example, with other people. Nothing compares to modeling values. If you lie or do dishonest things to others, the child will learn to do the same. They should learn to tell the truth, always. Talking helps!!!

Accountability

Second is Accountability. How we act in life sets up what we expect from our children in everyday life to be. Being accountable for our actions is very important. They should learn to solve their own problems as they apply to their values. How to deal with notions that deal with moral reasoning when faced with problems that go against what they were taught at home, is important. How they deal with these problems as they grow, understanding the reasons why, holds them accountable when facing their peers and other more complicated problems.

Curiosity

As children grow up they become curious, the third value. They start asking questions you wouldn’t expect from a four year old. Like, “Why do people hate each other?” When they see people or their parents fighting or arguing. Remember, you are the role model. They have to understand or reason why. So, the reason can be shared between the adult and the child. Let’s talk. “Well, why do you think they hate each other?” The child can then open up and express feelings. Talking or writing is very good for the mind. Open communication is another vital important value. Learning to express what’s inside. Don’t keep it bottled up. Let it out. Communicate.

Respect

Core Values, Beliefs and Expectations - NHS-NEASC-2015

There’s a saying, if you want people to respect you, you have to learn to respect others. Respect has to be earned, never given or demanded. Every one should learn to respect others no matter who they are. I believe it is very important for all to take in and learn that you can hold a very strong view and still understand or accept that others might see a situation very differently. This can also be very valuable.

Empathy

Empathy: Teaching Kids to Value Others - Child Development Institute

The understanding and connection of feelings for others helps to build strong relationships with others. Most recently and we hear this word almost everywhere. He doesn’t have empathy for all those that have passed away through covid-19. He only thinks of himself. This is also something that is learned or should be taught in early life. Doing something for another is a most vital and very powerful thing.

Modeling For Your Child

Modeling for your child by serving or interacting with others can instill self awareness and can create a positive purpose and / or reaction. Another value is Determination. As the saying goes, if at first you don’t succeed try and try again. Or, what do you do when you fall off a horse. You get right up, dust yourself up and get on top of the horse again, and again. Learning about determination is learning that at times you are going to fail. The trick is to get yourself up and keep going. A very good value for your children to learn or to pass on to others.

Although there are many other values, I felt these were probably some of the most important. In working at home or outside of my home take three supplements that have helped me with my immune system, mental acuity and focus for a stronger and healthier life.
